Kuwait said Iranian drones and missiles hit Terminal 1 at Kuwait International Airport early on June 3, killing one person, injuring 63 and damaging diplomatic missions; its defence ministry said it dealt with 13 ballistic missiles and 17 drones from Iran after dawn. Flights were halted for several hours and Kuwait expelled two Iranian diplomats; the IRGC blamed a malfunctioning U.S. Patriot interceptor, which CENTCOM denied.

Why it matters

The Guardian called it the first deadly attack in the Gulf since the April 8 ceasefire, and Saudi Arabia, Qatar, the UAE and the GCC condemned it.
