Iranian cluster-warhead missile hits central Israel; two construction workers die

Submunitions from an Iranian missile's cluster warhead struck at least six sites in central Israel on Monday morning, including Yehud, Or Yehuda, Holon and Bat Yam. One man was killed at a construction site in Yehud and a second worker there died of his wounds the next day; both were Petah Tikva residents.

Why it matters

Cluster warheads burst at altitude and scatter bomblets that are hard to intercept and can leave unexploded munitions behind, a threat Israeli authorities began warning the public about.
