Magen David Adom said a man and a woman were killed by severe shrapnel wounds in Ramat Gan, east of Tel Aviv, after an Iranian barrage struck several sites in central Israel. The Revolutionary Guards said they fired Khorramshahr-4 and Qadr multiple-warhead missiles in revenge for Larijani's killing.

Why it matters

The warheads are designed to spread damage and evade Israel's layered air defenses, and AP footage showed cluster munitions being released over Israel.
