An Israeli strike hit a room in the Ramada Hotel in Beirut's seaside Raouche district, killing four people and wounding 10, Lebanon's Health Ministry said. Israel's military later said the navy strike killed five commanders of the Revolutionary Guard's Quds Force Lebanon and Palestine corps who were "hiding in a civilian hotel."

Why it matters

Raouche is a tourist district with no notable Hezbollah presence, AP noted, so the strike showed Israel pursuing Iranian officers in central Beirut, not only in Hezbollah strongholds.
