Flames lit up the night sky over Tehran after strikes hit an oil storage facility near a key refinery, Iran's IRNA news agency said, adding the refinery was not damaged. Israel's military later confirmed striking several fuel storage complexes it said supplied Iran's military, and Iranian state media threatened to hit refineries in Haifa.

Why it matters

It was among the first strikes on civilian industrial facilities in the war, and Iran's threat against Haifa's refineries signaled that energy infrastructure on both sides was now in play.
