Three Iraqi security officials told AP a missile landed on the helicopter landing pad of the U.S. Embassy compound in Baghdad on Saturday evening, with no casualties reported. A source told CBS News that U.S. air defenses intercepted some Iranian missiles believed to be aimed at the embassy.

Why it matters

It was the first reported strike to land in Baghdad's Green Zone since the war began; caretaker Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani called it a "terrorist act" by "rogue groups" and ordered those responsible pursued.
