An Israeli strike destroyed a Lebanese army vehicle on the road between Kfar Tebnit and Khardali, killing Brigadier General Wissam Sabra, Captain Elie Khoury and soldier Hussein Ghozal, the Lebanese army said. Israel's military said the vehicle was in an evacuated combat zone where movement required coordination with it, and that the incident was under investigation.

Why it matters

President Aoun said the attack aimed at 'thwarting all efforts to reach a solution', since the Lebanese army was meant to take control of the south under the June 3 ceasefire plan.
