Al-Akhbar reporter Amal Khalil was killed and photographer Zeinab Faraj wounded in Israeli strikes on al-Tiri; Lebanon’s Health Ministry and journalists’ union said Israeli fire kept rescuers from reaching Khalil for hours after the house she sheltered in was hit. Prime Minister Nawaf Salam called it a war crime; the Israeli military said it struck militants posing a threat and denied blocking rescuers or targeting journalists.
Why it matters
The killing, during the truce, became a focal case for Lebanese accusations that Israel continued attacks despite the ceasefire.
