The Pentagon told the House Armed Services Committee in a classified briefing that clearing mines from the Strait of Hormuz would likely take six months, a person familiar with the briefing told AP. Pentagon spokesman Sean Parnell said a six-month closure was “an impossibility” and accused media of cherry-picking leaked information; Hegseth declined to speculate.
