National Counterterrorism Center Director Joe Kent posted a resignation letter on X saying he could not 'in good conscience' support the war, that Iran 'posed no imminent threat to our nation' and that the U.S. started the war due to pressure from Israel and its American lobby.
Why it matters
The Senate-confirmed official's letter cut against the administration's case for war, and the CIA director said the next day he disagreed with Kent.
