Some physical crude cargoes in Europe topped $130 a barrel and North Sea Forties rose to $136.75, near April's record, after Saudi Arabia suspended late-September shipments to European buyers because of the Yanbu loading halt, Reuters reported. Brent futures were about $107 earlier in the day.
Why it matters
The gap between physical and futures prices shows the pipeline outage is creating real shortages for refiners, not just a paper risk premium.
