Saudi Aramco shuts Ras Tanura refinery after Iranian drone attack

Saudi Arabia said it intercepted drones targeting the Ras Tanura refinery near Dammam but that falling debris started a fire. State TV said the refinery, with capacity above half a million barrels a day, was temporarily shut as a precaution, with no casualties.
Why it matters
The attack put Gulf energy infrastructure directly in Iran's sights, which a Verisk Maplecroft analyst called a significant escalation.
