Hours before the truce was due to expire, Trump said that at the request of Field Marshal Asim Munir and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif he would extend the ceasefire until Iran submits a “unified proposal” and talks conclude, while ordering the military to continue the blockade. Vance’s trip to Islamabad had been put on hold, and Tasnim reported Iran had told Pakistan it would not attend talks.
