Trump rejected Iran's Hormuz-first proposal and told Axios the blockade was 'somewhat more effective than the bombing' and would continue until Tehran agreed to a nuclear deal; a White House official said he had discussed with oil executives keeping it in place for months if needed. In the Oval Office he said Iran 'has to cry uncle' and that talks were now happening by phone.
