Yemen's internationally recognised government said its forces killed at least 1,150 Houthi fighters in nearly 2,000 operations over the previous 24 hours during Operation Dawn of Yemen. Its military spokesman also said troops destroyed ammunition depots and 180 Houthi combat, transport and supply vehicles while continuing their advance.
Why it matters
The claimed operational tempo indicates that ground fighting in Yemen is expanding alongside Houthi attacks on Saudi aviation and pressure on Red Sea and Bab al-Mandab routes.
