Hegseth vows most intense strikes yet as Caine says Iran's missile fire is down 90%

At a Pentagon news conference, Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth said Tuesday would be "yet again our most intense day of strikes inside Iran" and that Iran had fired its fewest missiles of the war in the previous 24 hours. Joint Chiefs Chairman Gen. Dan Caine said U.S.-Israeli strikes had hit some 5,000 targets and cut Iran's missile launches by 90%.

Why it matters

Tehran residents told AP of some of the war's heaviest bombardment, with power cuts across western neighborhoods, while Iran's continuing salvos at Israel and the Gulf tested the claim that its launch capacity was collapsing.
