Iran says Hormuz reopens only if toll revenue compensates its war damage

Mehdi Tabatabaei, deputy for communications in the president's office, wrote that the strait "will reopen only when, under a new legal regime," war damages are compensated from transit tolls; supreme leader adviser Ali Akbar Velayati warned the "resistance front" could disrupt the Bab el-Mandeb. Oman said it had met Iran on Saturday to discuss options for "the smooth flow of transit" through Hormuz.
