A Suezmax carrying Iraqi crude was hit by an unidentified projectile near Hormuz, causing a fire and leaving two sailors missing, according to reporting citing India's shipping minister and ship-tracking data. A product tanker off Oman was also reportedly struck by a drone.
Why it matters
Damage to laden crude and product tankers can further constrain commercial transit and raise freight and insurance costs for cargoes moving through the Hormuz area.
